Son Heung-min to undergo surgery on left eye, South korea hopes son recovers on time : 16 Days to go for Qatar World Cup 2022

The Tottenham Hotspur forward player Son heung-min is doubtful to take part at the fifa World Cup 2022 qatar this month due to a fracture around his left eye.

Son heung-min was substituted from Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League group stage finale with an head injury. Son heung-min, Age 30, was holding the left side of his head as he left the pitch following a hard aerial collision during a match with Marseille.

Son heung-min picked up an injury after colliding with defender Chancel Mbemba while playing Spurs against Marseille in the European Champions League, Wednesday, this week. The injury forced him to undergo surgery.

Tottenham announced on Monday that Son heung-min is set to undergo surgery “to stabilize a fracture around his left eye.” The club’s statement did not give a Recovery date.  Son heung-min will undergo the surgery before the end of the week which means it is highly likely he misses Sunday’s clash against Liverpool. But when he is next available for selection will depend on how he recovers from the operation.

South Korea will open their 2022 World Cup campaign against Uruguay on Nov. 24. Korea Republic – ranked 28th in Fifa Men’s Ranking. 

Tottenham on Wednesday announced plans for the operation. However, there is no definite time frame for its recovery. Despite recovering on time or not, one of the big names in Asian sport will still be on the plain to Qatar.

“Everyone is worried about the conditions of Son Heung min. We all pray that Heung-min recovers quickly,” said teammate Kwon Chang-hoon.

“We hope he will recover on time but we are waiting for clarity on that. We think Son will go to the World Cup, it’s just a question of whether he plays or how much he can play,” a KFA

Son has struggled this season, scoring five times in 18 appearances, Son won the Premier League Golden Boot last season after being the top scorer for a season at the top of English football. He is also the country’s leading striker with a total collection of 35 goals so far.
